Adopt A Tree
Adopt one of the 20 semi blight-resistant American chestnut trees that will be planted in the spring of 2010 at the Peter Burr House. This will be a new Demonstration Project with an anticipated result of producing several surviving and productive American chestnut trees for future programming purposes. Adoption will entitle you to name your tree. The adoption fee of $100 will help defray the costs needed for protecting and caring for the tree and for the needed record-keeping necessary for being allowed to plant these test trees.

Booklet: Origin of the Burr Coat of Arms
10-page 8.5" x 11" full-color Booklet by Joyce Cole tells about the first Burr Coat of Arms. Includes 2 pages on "The Origin of the Burr Coat of Arms" plus 8 pages on the arms and what the elements mean. With different coats of arms seen commercially with the Burr name, information in this document will identify which coat of arms was recognized by Aaron Burr and family. The booklet also identifies which popular coat of arms is frequently depicted incorrectly as the Burr arms.

Book: "How and Where To Look It Up: Resources for Researching the History of Jefferson County, West Virginia," by William D. Theriault, Ph.D.
"How and Where To Look It Up” is a reference book and CD for people interested in locating resources relevant to exploring the history of Jefferson County, WV and of the people who have been a part of that history. The book has 23 chapters that provide an overview of primary and secondary sources available on a broad range of topics. The book includes a searchable CD with a bibliography of 6,500 annotated citations on county history. The CD is for use with IBM-compatible PCs. The book and CD together comprise the most comprehensive reference guide published on Jefferson County history to date."
